Have you ever made a major purchase after much thought and preparation about how it was going to look and affect your life.? Have you ever been disappointed in the results but know it was a major undertaking and you thought you would get used to it after you lived with it a while? And did you? Or does it still make you cringe every time you look at it? Situations like this do happen and if you have been in this situation with your outdoor lighting system, don’t fret. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Memphis can help you love the way your home and outdoor living spaces look with some small tweaks.
Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Memphis has been custom designing and installing landscape lighting systems for over 15 years. Our experience has taught us that most existing systems don’t need to be completely redone and can benefit from one of three procedures outlined below.
Your system may look unbalanced to you and that can happen if fixtures are not installed to illuminate from left to right and bottom to top. Inexperienced installers may not know the best way to highlight an architectural feature or light darkened corners. Being in the field every day has taught us the best way to enhance features, textures and dimensions of your home and landscaping.
You may have an adequate amount of fixtures but your halogen bulbs may be burnt out or ending their life cycle. Halogen bulbs begin to dim until they actually burn out and need to be replaced every year or so. Burnt out bulbs can also make your system look unbalanced. If that is the case, be sure you are replacing with a comparable wattage bulb so you don’t over task your fixture. It’s best to replace all your halogen bulbs at the same time so you don’t see a drop in the output from some that are nearing the end of their life cycle.
When your system was installed your shrubs and trees may have been newly planted. After a couple of years you may notice that the fixtures are not illuminating the same way or the light beam may be covered completely from this overgrowth. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Memphis can easily reposition or even redesign your system to make it work with your foliage. We can also add on to system if additional lighting is needed.
If you’ve been thinking about LED outdoor lighting, now is a great time to upgrade. You won’t have to worry about replacing bulbs every year because LEDs last up to 50,000 hours and are much more energy efficient than their halogen counterparts. Where the do compare is in the look. Our LEDs give off a warm light that is virtually indistinguishable from halogen. You won’t get that stark blueish tint with our technologically advanced LEDs. And because they use less wattage, more fixtures can be added on to your existing transformer.
