One of the key clues that spring is upon us is the “spring forward” of daylight savings time. In the spring, time changes, weather changes, and the overall look of our outdoor spaces changes. Leaves bud, flowers bloom, and everything just looks alive. With the time change this past Sunday and some warmer weather this week, I think we can all agree that spring is right around the corner. While you are enjoying the extra hour of daylight in the evenings this week, remember that your outdoor lighting system needs a change as well. When the sunlight is still shining on your home and yard, there is no need to illuminate it with your outdoor lights. Save a few dollars on your energy bill, and adjust the timer of your outdoor lighting system. After all, lights can only beautify your home if they can be seen.
Because of the time change, if you have not modified the settings of your timer, you lights will be turning on when the sun is still up. With just a quick adjustment, your lights will illuminate your home at dusk and beyond. Perhaps you will not have the opportunity to adjust your timer, have forgotten how, or are just uncomfortable changing settings in your system. If so, give us a call at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Memphis. We can come out and adjust your timer for you.
So while you’re spending that extra hour outdoors this week, take a moment to change your timer settings. Your wallet will be grateful while your home continues to shine under the best lighting. Or call us. We are always happy to help you maintain your system.
